Jennie St. Thomas writes upmarket fiction with elements of women’s fiction and science fiction.
Her stories explore people navigating systems larger than themselves: institutions, families, belief structures, and the quiet rules that shape everyday life. She is particularly interested in questions of belonging, resilience, identity, and the choices people make when confronted with extraordinary circumstances.
A lifelong writer, Jennie has been creating stories since childhood. Her fiction ranges from contemporary and historical settings to imagined futures, but regardless of genre, her work remains firmly centered on character. She is drawn to protagonists who find themselves at crossroads: people learning to reconcile who they are with who they hope to become.
Whether set in the past, present, or future, her stories are ultimately about hope, human connection, and finding one’s place in a complicated world.
Jennie lives in eastern North Carolina, where she works a full-time job in the business world during the day and writes at night. She drinks too much sweet tea, has a soft spot for cats, and frequently insists that barbecue isn’t red.
