Cat Lady Firebird is the fan fiction handle for author Jennie St. Thomas.
Through Contentnea Creek Books, selected works are made available in print and ebook form, with all proceeds benefiting Back Street Kittens, Inc., a Georgia-based cat rescue organization.
Cat began writing fan fiction in the 1980s, before she’d ever even heard the term, and began sharing it online in 1998. Her first shared stories were for Star Trek: Voyager; to date, she has completed dozens of works in several different fictional universes.
Her Star Trek: Voyager story, “The Dance,” took second place in the JetC Awards the year it was written. Later, two of her Scarecrow and Mrs. King stories, “Filling the Silence” and “Broken Dates,” were published in Through the Years 3, a fanzine first made available at SMucK-a-Palooza 2024.
In addition, she is actively developing the Legends Lost fan fiction series for Scarecrow and Mrs. King. She continues to write in other universes as well.
She is a member of the Organization for Transformative Works and maintains the Scarecrow and Mrs. King Rescue Archive, which is dedicated to preserving fanworks lost due to the Angelfire shutdown.
Cat recently relocated from the Atlanta, Georgia, area, back home to eastern North Carolina. She lives in a 1910s-era farm house in a small town and can frequently be found walking its sidewalks.
